The Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, also known as the House of the People, is one of the largest buildings in the world and a symbol of Romania’s communist regime. Built between 1984 and 1997 under the orders of Nicolae Ceaușescu, the building is impressive for its grandeur, with over 12 floors and 1,100 rooms. Designed in a neoclassical style, it houses both the Romanian Parliament and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. It is a masterpiece of architecture, but also a controversial symbol of totalitarian power.
